Audi Shooting Brake - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Audi Shooting Brake (also known as the Audi TT Shooting Brake) is a concept car developed by the German manufacturer Audi and officially unveiled at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show.
It is a study of a sporty two-door compact hatchback.
The engine, already featured in some of the Audi's production models such as the second generation A3 and the TT sports car, is strong enough to accelerate the Shooting Brake from 0 to 62 mph in just 6 seconds and make it reach the electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

Tokyo Motor Show: the Shooting Brake Concept is a study vehicle offering a further trailblazing interpretation of Audi's current formal idiom, blending the powerful dynamism of a sports car with a new sense of spaciousness and greater functionality.
This is where the visual emphasis of the Shooting Brake Concept is to be found: the flat trapezoid of the rear window and the pronounced arching, convex panel shape are the opposite extreme to the flat nose end and give the vehicle a crouched appearance, as if ready to leap.
The luggage compartment of the Audi Shooting Brake Concept is quite sufficient even for substantial transport requirements, providing a capacity of 255 litres with the rear seat back upright and as much as 730 litres with the seat back folded down.

Martin Winterkorn, Audi's chairman of the board, called the Shooting Brake Concept, "a strong indication of where we're headed in the near future." Translated from auto-showspeak, that means the Shooting Brake Concept is more than a design study — it's a car you'll be seeing in production form shortly.
With its squared-off, hatchback rear end, the Shooting Brake doesn't look like an obvious replacement for the TT coupe, but as Dr. Winterkorn mentioned later on, "the Shooting Brake blends the fascination of a sport coupe with the practicality of an Avant." Sounds like Audi is trying to broaden its audience a bit.
The Shooting Brake uses Audi's 250-horsepower, 3.2-liter V6 along with quattro all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission.
