Ask any race fan and he or she will tell you where to find some of the best racing around: under the lights at a local short track.
To help those of you who may be visiting a local short track for the first time, we’ve put together a little primer to help you understand some of the main divisions that race on dirt and paved tracks across America.
Tracks feature various divisions to cater to both those racing for the fun of it and those who hope to one day climb the ranks.

Hallett Motor Racing Circuit is a scenic 1.8 mile road course located in the rolling hills of rural North-East Oklahoma, approximately 30 miles west of Tulsa.
Like many similar tracks, Hallett has been dogged by financial difficulties, and it is rumored that only the cost of removing the vast number of tires that constitute the main crash barriers has prevented it from being sold and the land converted to other uses.
The access road crosses the race track and is therefore closed during practice and race sessions.
