Although a shot needs to be on the net to score, a shot that misses the goal is still in play and may rebound in front of the net for a teammate to shoot.
The snap shot is a shorter version of the forehand shot and is used close to the goal.
The snap shot is begun by drawing the puck to your side, but it is not drawn back as in the forehand shot.
