Topic: Shota (Sword of Truth)

Sword of Truth Page - swords of truth
So far there are no known Warlocks in the Sword of Truth series, though it is mentioned that Zedd's father was a warlock.
In the series, the Sword of Truth is the magical weapon of the Seeker of Truth.
The Sword of Truth also "remembers" the skills of previous wielders, so that a true Seeker can call upon the blade techniques used by earlier owners.

Shota is a witch woman of unknown power who lives in Agaden Reach with her companion, Samuel.
At some point after Shota took in Samuel as her companion, Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander entered Agaden Reach and took back the Sword of Truth, in an encounter that was a very unpleasant experience for both Zedd and Shota.
Shota admitted that she did not have the power to stop Darken Rahl, and only Richard had a chance of defeating him.

Shota explains she doesn't know that he needs to have a talk with the wizard concerning the outcome of the sword's magic.
Shota implores him to see her and the truth; she asks him to hate her if he must, for who she is, not for what she sees.
Shota is emotional as she gives the location of the last box of Orden, Queen Milena, and a warning that she would not have it for long.

Shota Rustaveli's life and the time of creation of his poem exactly coincide, according to the events described in it, with the era of Queen T'hamar, down to the dynastic conflicts that reflected contemporary clashes at court.
It may be assumed that Shota Rustaveli arrived in Palestine after the destruction and capture of Jerusalem by the Egyptian sultan, Saladin, during the third crusade.
As a mark of gratitude, Shota himself was depicted on one of the columns of the monastery.

Richard Cypher, woodsman and warrior, is chosen to bear the powerful Sword of Truth, but his enemy, Darken Rahl, is a royal mage who commands armies, hideous beasts and - more terrible by far - a twisted magic.
Using his emerging arcane talents and the power of the Sword of Truth which only he can wield, Richard faces the ultimate evil, the dread Keeper of the Underworld, who has freed the spirit of Richard's nemesis, Darken Rahl.
Over the course of his journeys Richard learned to accept his true role, first as the Seeker and the wielder of the Sword of Truth, and then, in Stone of Tears, as the new Lord Rahl and the war wizard who led the fight against the Keeper and his dark minions.

In announcing that a friend of Richard's was found gravely injured, Shota mentions that she found him and that he was gravely injured a couple of times within two pages, and the characters repeat each other's words back multiple times.

Chainfire is the ninth book in Terry Goodkind's grimly inventive Sword of Truth fantasy saga, which began in 1994 with Wizard's First Rule.
It also revisits several major characters from earlier in the series (such as Shota, Berdine and others), giving the feeling that the author has come back from the disturbing sidetrack of the last two books.
Perhaps this book's best element is that it picks up the pace of the overall story, leaving the reader in no doubt that the final battle for which Richard was born is just around the corner (or two years away, at the rate Goodkind publishes).
