  Baby Shower Food Ideas
If the Baby Shower Food Menu is going to be a selection of foods that are eaten by your guests throughout the party, you may want to prepare a side table to reflect the baby shower theme.
The baby shower appetizers can be made in replacement of a full meal that you might otherwise serve.
Baby shower appetizers can be as complicated as baked spring rolls or as simple as rolled sandwiches cut into bite size pieces.

Shower (juggling) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A shower is a juggling pattern for 2 or more objects, most commonly balls or bean bags.
The easiest shower is the two-ball shower, although some jugglers may consider that it is not juggling at all.
According to the Bogleg database of unofficial juggling records, the record with 6 balls is 280 catches by Benjamin Thomas, and with 7 and 8 the records are 80 and 32 catches respectively, both held by Bruce Sarafian.

Box (juggling) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Box is a juggling pattern for 3 objects, most commonly balls or bean bags.
Two balls are dedicated to a specific hand with vertical throws, and the third ball is thrown horizontally between the two hands.
The box pattern can be seen as a synchronous shower, which direction is changed at every throw.

 Virtual Juggling
In a shower, all the balls are thrown in a circle.
One good thing about juggling is that it tends to stay within a plane, so for all practical purposes we do not have to worry about the Z coordinate.
The difference between club and ball juggling is that while a ball can be caught at any point in flight, a club is normally only caught by the handle and only when the handle is close to a certain position.

The cascade is the easiest juggling pattern with an odd number of balls; every throw is from one hand to the other, at the same height.
It is extremely regrettable that "shower" is also the fairly standard name of the most common passing pattern (which these authors prefer to call a "2-count").
It is much easier to juggle many balls through multiplexing (enough so that the IJA does not count multiplexing records in the same category as non-multiplexing records).

 The Science of Juggling
JUGGLING THEOREM proposed by Claude E. Shannon of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is schematically represented for the three-ball cascade.
The temporal constraints on juggling are elegantly summarized by Shannon's theorem.
Bounce juggling is easier to accomplish than is toss juggling because the balls are grabbed at the top of their trajectories, when they are moving the slowest.

 Research in Juggling History
It is also easier to bounce juggle (in which balls are bounced off the floor instead of thrown in the air) large numbers of balls than to toss juggle them, because the energy requirements are considerably lower, e.g., the first robot juggling machine bounce juggled (see [1]).
An old paper of mine, [6], discusses the tendency in illustrations to draw objects being juggled in a single arc over the jugglers head, while the juggler holds his arms far out to either side of his or her (usually his) body, and generally looks straight ahead instead of up at the pattern.
This drawing is probably intended to represent a shower, though a correct representation of a shower would have the hands and arms much closer together, eyes directed toward the top of the pattern, and either far fewer objects, or an arc much taller relative to the width.

 Juggling
In a juggling pattern we will ignore how many people or hands are involved, ignore which objects are being used, and ignore the specific paths of the thrown objects.
Suppose that you are juggling b balls in a constant rhythm.
The shower can be done with any number of balls; most people find that the three ball shower is significantly harder than the three ball cascade.

The high-tech Juggling Jukebox show... juggling SONGS
The juggling generally avoids the normal three-ball cascade and builds phrases based on other continous patterns like the shower, columns, or James Jay's own inventions.
The juggling consists of a collection of columns variations and the Boston Mess, and ends with chops.
The choice of orchestration, harmonic material, and arpeggiated textures that accompany the juggling was inspired by the vision of a revised opening tableau for Stravinsky's ballet Petrouchka, in which a juggler joins the organ grinder and tipsy merrymakers.

Juggling Tricks   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-18)
While some jugglers focus primarily on numbers juggling (juggling as many objects at once as possible) and stick to the standard patterns (the cascade for odd numbers and the fountain for even numbers), far more jugglers are interested in learning many different tricks and patterns.
Many juggling patterns consist of throws of varying heights and siteswap notation is a method of describing such patterns.
While juggling 3 balls, one is always thrown under-the-arm by one hand and thrown from the outside ("over the top") with the other, so it loops around the rest of the pattern.

 rec.juggling Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Although the term "contact juggling" is relatively new, rolling a ball across, around and over one's body is not.
The beef against this book, though, is that it addresses numbers juggling (juggling five balls or more) in a rather discouraging tone.

 Juggling Tips and Ideas
If you juggle a three ball shower, one hand is working as hard as if it were juggling five balls (yes - it's true!) A four ball shower makes one hand work as hard as it would in a seven ball pattern, five equates to nine, and so on.
Contact juggling involves rolling a ball around your hands, arms and (for the more expert) chest, head, legs, etc. When done properly it is mesmerising, as the ball appears to flow around the juggler, sometimes even staying completely still while the juggler moves under it.
A shower is a pattern in which the balls travel round in a circle, thrown high by one hand, but just passed across by the other (many people learn to juggle two balls like this as kids).

Ivars Peterson's MathTrek - Juggling by Design
The earliest known depiction of juggling is on the wall of an Egyptian tomb nearly 4,000 years old.
Since then, mathematicians have developed a notation for and mathematical model of juggling that has allowed performers to gain a better understanding of their tricks and to develop new juggling routines to amaze their audiences.
The initial step in the mathematical study of juggling was the development by several mathematicians around 1985 of a special sort of notation to convert juggling patterns into numbers.

Luke claimed that he could "juggle a three ball synchronous half shower on [his] first attempt." He wasn't lying, he really did juggle a pattern that looks like a good candidate for the three-ball synchronous half shower.
In a three-ball asynchronous shower the low throw (the pass) is thrown and the next throw from the other hand is that passed ball.
In all cases the shower is identified as the pattern where the low throw is followed immediately by another throw of the same ball.

 Siteswap FAQ
These are the "landing schedules" or "juggling states" that you are watching this juggler go through, and I'll denote them by...xxxxxx-----.....
There are juggling state diagrams for these too - instead of just x's indicating whether or not a ball is landing, you need to put a number to say how many balls are landing.
Basically four things: for communicating juggling patterns, for finding new ones, for learning things in pieces so as to not have to learn them all at once, and for seeing how patterns are related to each other.

Learn with someone that can already do 7 (rather than with a partner who is also trying to learn 7 clubs) - you will learn much faster because you can get away with less than perfect passes but will continue to receive good passes.

The shower can be done either synchronously or asynchronously, with some jugglers having a strong preference.

The balls are then dropped to the floor from the full shower and 4 are caught in his hat after a bounce.
The last ball bounces from his forehead to his neck, rolled down his back, and is caught in his hat held between his legs as he somersaults forward.

 What is the Shower?
The shower is same pattern you've probably seen many times before in cartoons (and some of these cartoon characters can apparently do 10 in a shower!) Each object follows the exact same path as the object before it, namely, a circular path.
The trace of a single object would reveal that it is thrown in an arc from the right hand to the left hand and then thrown directly across to the right hand.
