One of the few forward thinking politicians, Dr. Jichkar was a pro-change and pro-development politician who made productive use of knowledge and education for the welfare of the people of Vidarbha.
His sad demise is a big loss not only to his near and dear ones but to all the citizens of Vidarbha.

Dr Jichkar, who is holder of over a dozen post-graduate degrees of the Nagpur University, hails from Nagpur district but was fielded by the party for Bhandara Lok Sabha seat.

Empalliwar said Dr Jichkar, had given an advertisement in local newspapers describing himself as “a son of the soil born in an ordinary kunbhi (Maratha) family”.
