With taxonomy, I'm using an oldish basis in list of birds, but trying to update as I go along.
I think that we also have a problem ourselves with taxonomy of birds of prey.
A general problem with taxonomy is that many wiki articles are based on very old sources, but as we know, even modern sources, esp. American, have different views.

Charadriiformes: Definition and Links by Encyclopedian.com - All about Charadriiformes
Charadriiformes is an order of birds that mainly live near water and eat invertebrates or other small animals.
This group are the typical shorebirds, most of which feed by probing in the mud or picking items off the surface in both coastal and freshwater environments.
The Sibley-Alquist taxonomy which has been widely accepted in America, lumps all the Charadriiformes, seabirds and birds of prey into a greatly enlarged Ciconiiformes.

Fungal and bacterial taxonomy, diagnostics, and ecology
Probably in excess of 98% of the bird species in the world are described, and it is easy to work out the affinities of any new ones (currently 2-3 species a year, mainly from Zoology students from KU working in Peru and Bolivia).
Since the 1970's Sibley and Alquist have turned bird taxonomy onto its head, demonstrating, convincingly, that things are not as simple as previously believed, and that a number of odd and taxonomically controversial species are related.
Fungal taxonomy is in a state of flux, and the relationships of different groups within the main groups may still change.

In past decades they were often tossed into the babbler assemblage, but its humerus is corvine and DNA work suggests its closest relatives are the rockjumpers (Chaetops) of South Africa (Sibley and Alquist 1990).
Sibley and Monroe (1990) lumped the rockfowl with the rockjumpers in a single family, but there is little support for this position.
Current information about the taxonomy, identification, and biology of Rockfowl is nicely summarized in Thompson and Fotso (1994) which includes a fine color plate of both species by Mark Andrews.

The studies of Sibley, Alquist, Monroe and their teams have led to very different taxonomic proposals, based considerably upon DNA recombination techniques, but results have also been criticized on methodological and other grounds.
Their conclusions were often new and thought-provoking: the close link of the Shoebill to the Pelicans for example is now more widely supported on complimentary evidence.
He is also a qualified biologist and this combination has allowed a clear understanding of both the pioneering work and limitations of techniques used in modern bird taxonomy, particularly DNA studies.

 Fairy Bluebird page
Traditionally considered related to the bulbuls (Pycnonotidae) but having some characters of drongos (Dicruridae) or cuckoo-shrikes (Campepahagidae; Austin and Singer 1961), biochemical studies suggested closer relationships to bushshrikes, helmetshrikes and vangas within Sibley and Alquist's (1990) great expanded corvine assemblage.
Sibley and Monroe (1990) placed then next to cuckoo-shrikes but also included the six species of leafbirds (genus Chloropsis) in the family Irenidae (which name then takes precedence over Chloropseidae) and that approach was followed by Clements (1991).
In the Panbari Forest of Kaziranga National Park, Assam, India, they sat high in the canopy of fruiting trees giving mellow liquid notes but never stayed in any spot for very long.
