SIBULAN, Negros Oriental -- The water supplied by the Dumaguete City Water District (DCWD) in Barangay Talay, Dumaguete City is safe, but the water sample from the Magatas pumping station in Sibulan remains high in arsenic level content although less than the results of previous two tests.
In her report, Evangeline Santiago, UP water research institute expert, said that based on the water samples submitted for analysis, the arsenic level content of the Magatas station was 0.02 milligram per liter or higher than the standard maximum level of 0.01.
The results came as residents of Agan-an in Sibulan threatened to sue the officials of Siwad and the municipal government over the plan to transfer their DCWD connection to the local district.
