Michael Moore has a penchant for ticking people off, but 'Sicko' -- his expose on the U.S. health-care system -- may be his least controversial film to date.
And, as the filmmaker told us in an exclusive interview, that could be a very dangerous thing.

  Sicko - Rotten Tomatoes
SICKO tackles material as controversial as the topics explored in Moore's other films, yet does so in a way that places the focus on ordinary Americans affected by the nation's health-care crisis.
If Sicko, like all of Moore's movies, raises more questions than it answers, you do have to hand it to the guy for starting the conversation (at least in pop culture) in the first place.
Moore seems to trust his audience this time out, allowing the interview subjects to tell their stories without repeating his cheesy move from the past of stepping into the frame himself, shaking his head in awe.

Michael Moore broke his "Sicko" silence on Friday, writing to an email list of his supporters that his follow-up docu to "Fahrenheit 9/11" is about three-quarters done and on target for a 2007 release by the Weinstein Co.
The anticipated 2007 release date for "Sicko" is also a bit later than the September 2006 bow for which the Weinsteins had previously planned.
Except for the appeal for health care stories and some mentions while he was promoting "Fahrenheit," Moore has been mostly mum on "Sicko."  Moore takes temperature in ‘Sicko’ | LJWorld.com
“Sicko,” Moore’s dissection of the health care system, promises to be another hilarious documentary romp, based on excerpts he showed Friday night at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The “Sicko” excerpts also included a segment comparing Canada’s public health care to the privatized system in the United States, concluding that Canadians have more equitable access to medical services.
The idea for “Sicko” grew out of a segment from Moore’s TV show “The Awful Truth,” in which he staged a mock funeral outside a health maintenance organization that had declined a pancreas transplant for a diabetic man. The HMO later relented.
