  Sid Vicious
Sid Vicious was given his education in unhealthy lifestyles early in his existence, his mother Anne using (and sometimes selling) heroin throughout his childhood.
Vicious had not fared very well in his forced separation with Spungen during the tour, and he immediately flew to New York to reunite with her.
Vicious then attempted to launch a solo career, with Spungen assuming the role of manager and various British and American punk musicians acting as his new band The Idols.

  Sid Vicious
Sid Vicious, the bass player of The Sex Pistols, had once more traipsed down to his band's rehearsal room for a much-needed repertoire brush-up, merely to encounter yet again the irksome absence of the other three members of the band.
Vicious was speaking from his hotel room somewhere (he didn't claim to know exactly where) in Belgium after a day of being driven round cities to private doctors by a Pistols' roadie for some kind of temporary cure to his constant bad-health problem (to little avail).
Vicious said he would to a requisite extent, but what he didn't know was that as the five talked it out, Nancy, whom it had been decided was the "ruination of simple Sid", was being "persuaded" by two of the Pistols organisation to take the next flight to New York.

Also included on Sid Sings was a cover of the The Heartbreakers' "Born to Lose", which was recorded at the Sex Pistols last British gig at Ivanhoe's in Huddersfield on Christmas Day 1977, with Sid on vocals.

 Sid Vicious @ Filmbug
Vicious, whose stage name was allegedly coined after his friend John Lydon's pet hamster, was born in London (his mother moved to the Spanish island of Ibiza where she made a living from selling drugs but later moved back and settled in London).
In fact Vicious was notoriously inept musically, and according to Jon Savage's biography of the Sex Pistols, Englands Dreaming, most of the bass parts on the bands later recordings were actually played by guitarist Steve Jones, and at live performances his amplifier was often switched off.
Vicious was arrested and charged with her murder, although claimed to have no memory at all of the previous night's incidents.

Sid, although not yet part of the band, made an impression at their gigs by "inventing" the pogo dance; in an attempt to get a better view of the stage, he would jump straight up and down.
Vicious was once arrested after beating Nancy in a London hotel room (which prompted McLaren to briefly throw him out of the band), and during her final phone conversation with Deborah Spungen, Nancy admitted that a number of beatings she'd claimed to have received from street thugs had actually occurred at the hands of Sid.
In statements to the police that he later retracted, Vicious alternately claimed that he'd argued with Nancy, that he wasn't in the room when she was killed and did not stab her, that he did stab her, and that he was "a dirty dog".

Sid Vicious - Biography - AOL Music
However, what Vicious the icon (and, by proxy, the original punk movement) has come to represent in the minds of many, and what Sid Vicious actually was, are two very different realities.
Not only was Vicious musically talentless, but the Pistols' vision had virtually nothing to do with him: he wasn't even present when much of the group's material was conceived and written, and Johnny Rotten was largely responsible for the controversial lyrics and attitude that built their reputation.
Vicious' presence did contribute a certain dangerous energy to the Pistols' performances, but his unreliability as a rhythm section anchor could just as easily hurt the band's live sound.

What sealed Vicious' downfall, though, was his romantic association with groupie/heroin addict Nancy Spungen, whose presence ensured that any attempt Vicious made to break out of the spiral of self-destruction in which he found himself would be met with failure and a reversion to his old habits.
Vicious' own confession told the story of a dispute over a failure to procure heroin, which escalated into violence and finally the stabbing; Spungen apparently failed to dress the wound properly, and died several hours later.
However, Vicious' own condition rendered him unsure of the night's events, and those close to him doubted that he could have brought himself to murder his beloved.
