Sigilverse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sigilverse, also known as the CrossGen Universe, is a fictional shared universe which served as a setting for most titles published by CrossGen Comics.
Except for El Cazador, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and a handful of flashbacks, all CrossGen Universe titles are set in the future (the 900th century to be precise).
Inhabiting this planet was a race of beings known as the Atlanteans with a long and distinguished history.

The Sigil and the story of the Sigil-Bearers was a prominent aspect of the Sigilverse narrative.
The year 2003 saw the release of numerous titles that would expand the Sigilverse in the build up to the Negation War.
They were; CrossGen Comics who would continue to publish the current Sigilverse titles; Code6 comics which would publish material created by others outside the Sigilverse and COW or Comics on the Web who would establish CrossGen as a front runner of internet comic book subscriptions.

That said, while I remain wary of Crossgen turning their Sigil characters into little more than the superheroes that their early publicity swore up and down that they weren't, the first issue of Negation War is a decent little intro for a sweeping sci-fi/superhero style epic.
New fans won't be lost, and longtime fans of the Sigilverse will get a finale of sorts for their characters, including an explanation for what all that Sigil nonsense was about in the first place.
The last thing I ever wanted to see in the pages of most of the Sigilverse titles was a bunch of sci-fi rebels spilling out from a dimensional portal, and yet that's exactly what happens at the end of the book.

 CrossGen Entertaiment
In 1998, Tampa, Florida-based entrepreneur Mark Alessi founded a comic book publishing company based not on the prevailing superhero trend but on a variety of genres, with characters nonetheless sharing a single fictional universe.
Most of the titles in the CrossGen Universe, or Sigilverse, involved characters who had mysteriously gained a sigil marking on their body, granting them unusual powers.
Yet while the digital comic book art reproduced the fine color of the original, the lettering was not quite legible; this was solved by adding client side browser code so that hovering over the word balloon or thought bubble would enlarge it to a readable size.

Demetria is a fictional planet, situated in CrossGen's Sigilverse.
It lies in the "Bleak Zone," on the edges of the Sigilverse's main galaxy, where the universal energies are at their weakest.
Most, if not all, of the communities of Demetria operate on a technology level approximately equivalent to that of the Renaissance in real history.
