		The games portray Silent Hill as a small, secluded town, smothered in fog, surrounded by large hills and flanking a lake, but this could be any one of a hundred towns in the United States.
		Silent Hill 3 is a direct sequel to Silent Hill: Heather, the main character in Silent Hill 3, continues the story begun by her father, Harry Mason, in the first game.
		Silent Hill's gradual decline from perceived normalcy to stylized decay bears a close resemblance to the film's visual aesthetic, and Silent Hill's monsters are often seen shaking their heads rapidly from side to side in unnatural and jerky motions, a direct lift of Jacob's Ladder's visual style.

		There are a few clues about her illness, with one of them being her screaming the name "Silent Hill." Being the modern folk they are, her family does some quick Googling to find out that Silent Hill is a ghost town, the victim of out-of-control coal fires that are still burning beneath the streets.
		The interactions between the characters seem strained in the opening scenes, and it's hard to believe that the mother would basically abduct her daughter away from the father to explore Silent Hill.
		Silent Hill, at its best, succeeds as a horror movie better than almost any other film in the genre in recent memory.

		Silent Hill's main attraction, for genre fans, certainly, lies not in its plot nor in its characters (you could place anyone in this particular township and whatever might happen, you could be sure it'd be unnerving), but in its relentlessly nightmarish imagery.

		What's interesting about this is the listed release date of "26/10/2007." 0rigins was pushed back to be shipped during Q1 2007, so I would imagine this date is most likely false.
