If Silkair were to implement IFEs (and not those rubbish digital portable players which are usually out of stock) it is a very strong contender for a 5 star rating.
One negative point for silkair was that the beer ran out halfway the flight and we all have to settle for other drinks - there should be enough beer for all.
Silkair's A320 aircraft from Singapore to Phuket on 14 Dec, and after flying Thai Airways to Frankfurt and back, I found Silkair's service to be far better.

Members of the United Nations Association of Singapore (UNAS) jointly with SilkAir, wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to our friends in Asia for the tragic loss and unprecedented suffering brought to millions of family members and friends affected by the Asian Tidal Wave disaster on the 26th of December 2004.
UNAS has partnered with SilkAir to collect funds on board SilkAir flights, to assist, in the immediate relief and the subsequent recovery of the countries affected by the disaster.
The funds collected will be channeled to assist the United Nations and its Agencies in their relief efforts, in meeting both the immediate needs and subsequent reconstruction programs.
