	Silver Cross Field - Joliet, Illinois
		The jewel of the downtown area is Silver Cross Field.
		A picnic area is located on top of the concession building in left field, apparently an attempt at mimicking the Wrigley Field rooftop experience.
		The atmosphere at Silver Cross Field seemed a bit forced at times as the "Funstruction Crew" was constantly trying to lead cheers even though fans already seemed into the game and knew when to cheer on their own.

	Class A baseball picks Joliet
		The Illinois High School Association board of directors announced Monday that Silver Cross Field, home of the Joliet JackHammers in downtown Joliet, will be the site of the 2006 Class A State Baseball Tournament.
		Bidding for those tournaments were Graham Stadium in Mattoon, Champion Field in Normal and the University of Illinois.
		Silver Cross Field is home not only to the JackHammers, but also to the University of St. Francis games.

		It used to be the type of place people felt they had to lock their car doors as they drove through, but Silver Cross and the JackHammers are doing their part to change that.
		Combined with wharehouses/offices that give the big boppers a nice target, Silver Cross Field is a very nice place to watch a ballpark.
