Silverbeet is dime-a-dozen or perhaps as cheap-as-chips in New Zealand.
Silverbeet is known in the Continent as Swiss Chard.
All that said there is one contest in which silverbeet beats spinach hands down and that is in terms of robust construction.

Another example of the sweet and savoury are tarts that combine silverbeet (or blettes as they are known in Provence) with currants and other sweet ingredients - sometimes with custard, sometimes finished with a lattice of pastry, sometimes with a double crust.
Silverbeet has been our most prolific crop and we are continually finding new ways to use it.
I wouldn't claim that these dishes make up a balanced meal, but it was good fun and the children scraped their platters clean of the silverbeet tart.

This one of my favourite savoury crepe fillings the silverbeet with a slightly bitter flavour combines brilliantly with the richness of stilton, resulting in a creamy delicious filling.
Add the silverbeet to the pan, reduce the heat slightly and cover it with a lid and leave it to cook for 3-4 minutes or until tender and reduced right down, removing the lid and redistributing regularly.
When it is cooked remove the lid and stir in the stilton, ricotta, cream and spring onions and cook it while stirring so that the cheese has melted and you have a creamy silverbeet mixture.

Silverbeet was welcomed as the Bats' best leap forward since 1987's classic Daddy's Highway (named one of the year's most noteworthy independent releases in American Billboard).
Surprising not because it contained another 13 slices of that simple yet chaotic pop (it did) but because it captures the sound of the Bats stretching to deliver something brilliant and distinctive in the studio with a noisy set of tunes selected by the group for their freshness and their diversity.
Silverbeet was recorded at the tail-end of The Bats' 1992 world tour in the small-town isolation of Stoughton, Massachusetts, USA.

Kirsten’s lentil dish, which she called a tabouleh, was an attractive combination of lentils, fried cubes of parsnip, almonds, garlic and finely shredded raw silverbeet.
I suggest that if your silverbeet is less than choice, instead of using raw leaves, you could blanch the trimmed leaves in boiling water, plunge them into cold water, drain thoroughly and shred.
Add the silverbeet to the pan, toss to mix and serve immediately, topped with grilled lamb and garlic yoghurt.

“Fear of God” and “Silverbeet” are still great albums but flawed and “de- sparkled” (for the above reasons) New stuff is more in the vein of “Couchmaster”, don't think we'll ever be as hyped/intense again as we were on “Fear of God” and “Silverbeet” which were our big budget/American producer albums.
I remember going back the next day to listen after recording the rhythm tracks for “Silverbeet”, we thought there was something wrong with the machine because it sounded way too fast.
We had played them at breakneck speed because we were so uptight in the studio so we had to do it all again and it's still pretty speedy, I heard that album recently and really enjoyed it but had to have a wee nap afterwards.
