SimCity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
SimCity is predominantly a single-player game (the exception being a "Network Edition" of SimCity 2000, and an obscure Unix port of the original SimCity).
The objective of SimCity, as the name of the game suggests, is to build and design a city, without specific goals to achieve (except in the scenarios, which typically require the player to achieve a certain population or bank balance in a given period of time).
SimCity and SimCity 2000 were also released for the SNES.

SimCity 4 Review for PC at GamingExcellence
SimCity 3000 had the potential to be a massive leap in the series, yet it seemed to fall short in several respects.
In SimCity 3000, players were able to connect roads and services to adjoining cities, and make deals to export garbage and other such trades.
As with its predecessor, SimCity 4 includes the ability to add historical landmarks and tourist attractions to your city, whether you want the massive CN Tower or the inescapable prison Alcatraz, the title offers a wide selection to choose from.

By making SimCity 3000 available for individual students to use during class, before or after school, or in free time, you can help students find their own area of interest, and allow them the time to explore and be creative.

And since city maps in SimCity 4 are smaller overall than in previous SimCity games--probably a necessary limitation due to the fine level of detail you'll see down to individual houses and sims--that wasted space could be a big missed opportunity for your city.

SimCity 3000 has improved the way roads, highways, railroads, buses and subways function, all to Maxis' credit, but otherwise there is nothing new.

 Simcity4.co.uk - A new direction for game play — Spore & SimCity 5
Using this new 'intelligent code', SimCity 5 would be able to think for itself, saving a lot of work on animation, building design, moving objects, infrastructure, etc. And would mean that the game would not only become simpler in playing, it would become simpler.
The adoption of this new code would mean that SimCity 5 would be more of an individually functioning 4 Dimensional game of development, time, change, war, disaster, bridging water and gorge, towers and skyscrapers, business, money, taxation, housing transport, infrastructure and more, that they would then unleash on us to create masterpieces.
We would build cities with a much higher level of detail, it is possible that you would loose the square grid, be able to build roads in natural curves, build a bridge as high or a tunnel as low as you want, gain a higher knowledge of the populous of your city.

The release of SimCity 4 in January and the rumors surrounding the upcoming debut of Doom III sparked lots of discussion.
