Simbach am Inn is a town in the Rottal-Inn district of Bavaria, Germany, on the Austrian border (coterminous with the River Inn), opposite the Austrian city of Braunau.
Simbach raised to a city in 1951 and is the youngest city in the Rottal-Inn district.

Braunau am Inn is situated at an altitude of 348 m on the right bank of the river Inn, opposite of Simbach in Bavaria (Germany).
The name Prounaw was first mentioned in 1110, but Ranshofen, today a borrough of Braunau, had already been mentioned in a document of AD 788 (Rantesdorf).
People unfamiliar with the rich history of the town unfortunately only think of Braunau as the place where Adolf HITLER was born in 1889.
At Herr Findl's request, much of Saturday was spent walking in the Yorkshire Dales, with friends from the Skipton Simbach Society, also including a trip to the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham and a tour and dinner in the historic setting of Skipton Castle.
A special Barbecue was held on the Sunday evening at Herriots Hotel, where Councillors and Simbach Society members had the opportunity to bid farewell to their guests in a informal atmosphere.
Since the visit, Herr Findl has invited representives from Skipton to participate in the traditional "Advent in Simbach" festivities and a small party consisting of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, their consorts and the Town Council's Chief Officer will be spending a few days in Simbach this November, as guests of the Burgermeister.
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - The anticonvulsant drug topiramate can reduce binging and purging in women with bulimia nervosa, while improving their health-related quality of life, a new placebo-controlled study shows.
The results are comparable to those seen with other pharmacological agents used for bulimia nervosa patients, Dr. Marius K. Nickel of the Inntalklinik in Simbach am Inn, Germany, the study's lead author, told Reuters Health.
Topiramate would be most suitable as a short-term treatment, he added; "the most important agent is the psychotherapy."
