Mistral missile - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mistral is an infrared homing surface-to-air missile manufactured by the European multinational company MBDA missile systems (formerly by Matra BAe Dynamics).
The basic Mistral missile is used with a man-portable launch unit.
There are also launch units that allow the missile to be fired from armoured vehicles, ships or helicopters (such as the Aérospatiale Gazelle, Denel Rooivalk, or Eurocopter Tiger).

In the anti-ship missile role the Barak leaves the launcher and is turned over towards the target by the thrust vector control system at the base of the missile which is automatically discarded, presumably by explosive bolts, upon completion of launch.
The missile is acquired and controlled by the fire-control radar which then guides it towards the target.
Its potent mix of missile corvettes and submarines, in concert with the surveillance and strike aircraft of the RSAF, can control the waters surrounding Singapore, and allow it to exert control over the length of the Singapore Strait, one of the world's most vital waterways, and further a field.

The Ultimate Georges Leygues class frigate - American History Information Guide and Reference
The Georges Leygues class ("F70 type") is a type of anti-submarine frigates of the French Navy.
They are polyvalent, due to their Exocet and Crotale missile complement, which makes them especially suitable for defence of strategic positions, demonstrations or high sea escorts.
The F70 is internationally labelled an "anti-submarine destroyer" (hende the "D" in the hull numbers), though the French doesn't use the term and calls them "frigates".
