 Simcoe County
Simcoe County council approved a 2005 budget this morning that's expected to add about $28 to the average property tax bill on homes assessed at $205,000 in New Tecumseth.
Last year, the County's portion of the tax bill was 28 per cent of the total, including a separate line item for waste management.
Overall, the County is forecasting gross expenditures at $323 million, which is up from $297 million last year.

SIMCOE COUNTY, JANUARY 28, 2005 — The Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario today allocated more than $891,000 to help fund the pilot project that will create 33 units of affordable housing for lower-income households in Simcoe County. 
The announcement was made by the Honourable Andy Mitchell, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, on behalf of the Honourable Joe Fontana, Minister of Labour and Housing, and Ontario Minister of Public Infrastructure Renewal David Caplan under the Canada/Ontario Affordable Housing Program.
The $891,000 allocation to Simcoe County comprises a 33-unit project at 111 Dufferin Street in the Town of New Tecumseth.  The project is sponsored by the Dr. F.M Walker Veterans and Seniors Villa, Inc. The units will be occupied by seniors with lower incomes.

He was the pastor of Trinity Church, Burford at the time of his death and had a wife, Eliza Fletcher) and 4 children, daughter Eleanor, sons Ernest Maurice and Bernard and 1 unknown.
