		It was the last great Specials single, and the last to feature the original lineup, as they too would splinter shortly after its release.
		Much of this collection can be found on THE SPECIALS, the first LP by the greatest Ska band of my generation.
		The Specials Singles Collection spans their first album, through the "Ghost Town" single, to the Special Aka album "In the Studio".

		It was released in February, 1995 by the new owner of their back catalogue, WEA (Sire Records in the United States).

	The Singles Collection: The London Years Music at Shop Ireland
		Its purpose was to collect the singles released on the Stones' American and British labels London and Decca, and present them in order of their release.
		The majority of The Rolling Stones Singles Collection, including all of the first two discs, is in mono (for reasons of authenticity, one would hope), as per the original release of each single, but the sound quality and definition would be hard to better.
		The single mix of Brown Sugar was not quite the same as the one included on Sticky Fingers and the 45 was variously available in mono and stereo in different regions and/or pressings.

		This CD documents the Dropkick Murphys' early days, containing all five of their out of print singles.
		Plus, there is the added bonus that all of these songs have their old lead singer [who, word has it, almost everyone liked better than Al, the new guy].
		To everyone else, it isn't that bad of an introduction to the band, because there is the old belief that a band's only really good songs are on their singles...

		Singles were probably more important and albums were released, often, to cash-in on the success of a hit single.
		Furthermore, many albums of the 1960s did not contain any singles, quite unlike today when they are a collection of hit singles and little else.
		The Rolling Stones were certainly a great singles band in the 1960s as this collection proves.

		The first single is the powerful dance track of “It’s A Sin” that featured a fast tempo of synthesizers and drum machine tracks while Tennant sings about his struggle with his homosexuality and his religious upbringing where it probably helped gave voice for those who struggled with homosexuality.
		The new single “Was it Worth It?” is a house-based dance track that is a response to critics who often accuse the group of writing melancholy songs but this track doesn’t have a melancholy feel.

		One of Britain's most successful alt-rock groups, Placebo is doing the world a favour by releasing a collection of their singles.
		The album, called 'Once More With Feeling: Singles 1996-2004', is slated for release on October 25th in the UK and will presumably be released around the same time in North America.
		Also included on the singles collection is two brand new Placebo songs: 'I Do' and 'Twenty Years'.

		A bit premature perhaps, but if there is a singles collectoion 'in the works' I thought an early thread of speculation was an ok idea.
		I was thinking they have released well over 20 singles, and if this is more of Capitols idea (which i think is likely), I reckon it'll be cut down to about 15 of the greatest hits.
		Also, a singles thing seems top be what every other band does after being around for a few years, and I don't know...it kinda seems like a full stop with most bands.

		Probably the worst song on the album, this is a slow-ish anti-war number that is generic, dull 80s rock.
		Sorry, but you can see why this was only included on the 12" version of the single.

		I think seeing parts of the series helped, since it gave the songs more personality and meaning (these are mostly character singles, after all!) I recommend buying the original Japanese vocal collection or singles.

	Apparat: The Singles Collection - PopMatters Comic Book Review
		Quit City is perhaps the most unusual piece in the collection, largely because of the relative obscurity of its origin: The Aviator.
		But her fame continues to follow her, as does a ghost from the past -- the reason she left home for a life of danger and excitement in the air.
