BBC - Rock & Alt Review - New Order, Waiting For The Sirens' Call
New recruit Phil Cunningham gives an extra dimension of guitar, most significantly on the urgent "Morning Night And Day", star producers John Leckie and Stephen Street both polish the gems already present, and the Scissor Sisters' Ana Matronic brings her unique sense of style to the smouldering "Jetstream".
New Order could easily have another "Blue Monday" or (even better) "True Faith" but, in my opinion, they need to tone down the "rockin" a bit and get those synth-techno beats that we all know Stephen is capable of back at the centre of their sound.
The album is a maturity of the New Order saga.

NEW ORDER are making good progress on their new album, and have revealed it will signal a return to their 'dance' period.
The band told BBC 6Music that the album, currently being recorded in Bath, is similar in flavour to their 1989 collection 'Technique' rather than 2001's guitar-heavy 'Get Ready'.
The album is being co-produced by veterans Stephen Street and John Leckie.

 Brotherhood by New Order CD
The album opens with the deceptively straight drum hits of "Paradise," which quickly adopts an intense double-tracked vocal and with it, an air of danger that offsets its soaring melody.
The album's biggest hit "Bizarre Love Triangle" exemplifies this rare mixture--atop a throbbing, heavily sequenced dance beat is played out a drama complete with consistently engaging musical shifts, dramatic lyrical turns, and a chorus that's instantly memorable and nothing short of gorgeous.
New Order's mellow dramatic dance pop continues to be an inspiration to all music lovers that were there in the late 70's and early 80's.

 New Order
This album is an undeniable step up from Movement since the members of the band seem to have stopped their nightly Ian Curtis seances (complete with smores) in the recording studio and actually mapped out an identifiable sound, but some people go a little bit far and label it as New Order's all-time peak.
The first two albums were dotted with little fragmented appealing qualities that made them somewhat worthwhile in their own (limited) ways, but this is where they finally adopted a sound that can actually be described as lush and appealing instead of chilling, soulless and distant.
The single "Regret" is good ol' New Order at their shiny, creamy best, with a totally unoriginal riff filtered so heavily it manages to sound authentic anyway serving as the driving force in a perfect pop melody.

That album's undoubted highpoint "Blue Monday" is featured on here & it still is a sound to behold because it indicates that New Order had at last found their niche in dramatic, techno-based pop.
New Order managed to turn out quite a body of work in the first 6 or 7 years of their career, and SUBSTANCE features the best of it in a way that is unique if nothing else.
