Function (mathematics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As a mathematical term, "function" was coined by Gottfried Leibniz in 1694, to describe a quantity related to a curve, such as a curve's slope at a specific point of a curve.
The notion of function as a rule for computing, rather than a special kind of relation, has been formalized in mathematical logic and theoretical computer science by means of several systems, including the lambda calculus, the theory of recursive functions and the Turing machine.
In some branches of mathematics, such as automata theory, the notation x f is used instead of f(x).

But as you see, in Monadic Mathematics framework, there are two kinds of cardinals, where one of them is the standard Quantitative Cardinal, but the second type of cardinal is what I call the Urelement Cardinal, which is based on the Length concept (which is the structural property of the Number concept).
According to Monadic Mathematics the Number concept is the fundamental building-block of a non-destructive interaction between opposites, which is based on Included-middle reasoning (which is the logic that can be found between at least two opposites that define their middle domain).

Singletons and the empty set As with the union and disjoint union, there is a conceptual difference between the singleton as a free-standing set (which we call 1) and the singleton subset consisting of a particular element of a given set.

are at the beginning of the systematic, axiomatic development of set theory, both as a field of mathematics and as a unifying framework for ongoing mathematics.
These notions are the simplest building blocks in the abstract, generative conception of sets advanced by the initial axiomatization of Ernst Zermelo [1908a] and are quickly assimilated long before the complexities of Power Set, Replacement, and Choice are broached in the formal elaboration of the `set of'{} operation.
Here there is a loose analogy with Tarski's recursive definition of truth for formal languages: The mathematical interest lie mainly in the procedure of recursion and the attendant formal semantics in model theory, whereas the philosophical interest lies mainly in the basis of the recursion, truth and meaning at the level of basic predication."

By offering a combination of intensive workshops and in-class support for elementary teachers the Technology Integration in Mathematics (TIM) project aims to help elementary teachers integrate technology into their mathematics classes.
The project supports elementary teachers in developing their understanding of investigations-oriented teaching strategies and technology-enhanced mathematics.
We will focus on how the TIM professional development approach works to change teachers’ beliefs, mathematical dispositions, and classroom teaching styles as they learn new ways to teach mathematics to children.
