First Sino-Japanese War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
To distinguish it from the Sino-Japanese War (19371945), this war is called the Jiǎwǔ War (甲午战争) in Chinese because it occurred in the Chinese year of that name.
The Japanese refer to this conflict as the Japan-Qing War (日清戦争, Nisshin sénsou) while the Koreans term it the Qing-Japan War (청일전쟁, 淸日戰爭, Cheong-Il Jeonjaeng).
The modern Japanese army defeated the Chinese in a series of battles around Seoul and Pyeongyang, forcing them north, and by November 21 the Japanese had taken the fishing village of Lüshun (aka Port Arthur to westerners, now known as Lüshunkou, literally Lüshun Port) at the tip of the Liaodong Peninsula.

A clash (July, 1937) between soldiers of the Japanese garrison at Beijing and Chinese forces at the Marco Polo Bridge was the pretext for Japanese occupation at Beijing and Tianjin.
Japanese strategy was aimed at taking the cities, the roads, and the railroads, thereby gaining a net of control.

 Japanese War Crimes
This page is for the memorial of the victims of the Japanese atrocities in the Second Sino-Japan War and their families, and for Justice and Peace, and for our humanity.
The Japanese Government has successfully gotten away from the remaining problems, they hide or destroy documents, they destroy newly uncovered evidence of war crimes, they refuse to pay the living victims such as the comfort women, they remove the war crimes from their history textbooks...
The Japanese general public glorify the war criminals as patriotoc heros, enshrine them as gods, threaten the former soldiers who are telling the truth..

 Japanese democide-mass murder
Durng the Sino-Japanese War, 1937-1945, one of the many ways the Japanese military would murder their Chinese prisoners was by bayonet.
For documentation on Japan's murder of near 4,000,000 Chinese during the Sino-Japanese War (which in 1941 merged into World War II), see China's Bloody Century Source: "Nanjing Massacre:" 300,000 Chinese People Killed, 20,000 Women Raped..."
Often the purpose was to give their new soldiers real life bayonet practice, and especially to remove their normal inhibitions against killing other human beings.

 When will Taiwan attack China?
The Freudian slip in the recent Taipei Times' jingoism rests not so much on its claims the need for Taiwan to take the initiative in the absence of the US support in the defence of the island; rather this is a sinister and insidious plot to maneuver the US and China into a Sino-US War.
After the Iraq War, that evangelical mission to spread democracy sounds hollow to many outside the US.
To most Americans, Taiwan may not be worth the fight, even when American bigots tout their warped concept of democracy.

Second Sino-Japanese War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Second Sino-Japanese War (19371945) was a major war fought between the Republic of China and the Empire of Japan, both before and during World War II.
Nevertheless the Japanese prospect of transferring their troops to fight the Americans was in vain and they only committed the Guandong Army from Manchuria in their "Sho plan", which later facilitated the Soviet advancement after the Soviet war declaration on August 8, 1945.
The Japanese troops in China formally surrendered on September 9, 1945 and by the provisions of the Cairo Conference of 1943 the lands of Manchuria, Taiwan and the Pescadores Islands reverted to China.

 Nanking
This first Sino-Japanese War set the stage for the second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) of which the events at Nanking were a part.
Though the majority of the tragic events occurred in the first six to eight weeks of the invasion of Nanking, the Japanese remained in control of the city until 1945, the conclusion of the war.
Spring of 1932, the Japanese renamed the three provinces of Manchuria as the new state of Manchukuo and set up a puppet government under the leadership of Henry Pu Yi, the last ruler of the Manchu dynasty and newly crowned Emperor Xuantong, the leader of Manchukuo.
