The Foundation elected to develop the Bob Charles Golf Scholarship, using the monies contributed by Bob, and is proud to be associated with what is an excellent opportunity for people involved in golf who want to develop their education.
Sir Bob, recognising that not everyone succeeds at the highest level, wants to provide the opportunity for golfers to gain an ongoing education whilst developing their golfing skills.
The Sir Bob Charles Golf Scholarships address this issue, and also provide a chance for individuals in the golf industry to pursue their specific golf educational goals.

Sir Charles was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 21, 1918.
I have not been too successful in gathering information about Sir Charles in the 80s and 90s other than the fact that I knew he was living in Japan (moving there in 1992) for an extended period of time.
Sir Charles composed the tune, 'Robbins' Nest' as a tribute to a friend named Fred Robbins who was a very popular New York disc jockey at the time.
