Among the 1st Baronet's expenses in London is 6s 6d 'Paid for leatherjacks' in 1663.
The drum, painted with the Myddelton arms, is almost certainly one of the two drums purchased in `679 for 3 pounds from Richard Porter of Chester, by Hugh Matthewe, drummer, of Wrexham.
