Unknown to the present generations, the three heroes in the 'Battle of Dagupan' who historians believed were the ones who sparked the flame of revolution in their own province, later emerged to become governors in different times and climes.
In her book, "Pangasinan: 1891-1900", Dr. Mendoza-Cortez said after the battle on July 22, 1898, all the Spanish provincial officials surrendered and were taken as prisoners of war.
Pangasinan's foremost historian, Restituto C. Basa, said Del Prado was brought to Dagupan and imprisoned.

SISON, Pangasinan (21 Apr) -- Two armed men and a woman commandeered a brand-new Victory Liner bus last night on its way to Baguio from Manila, brought it to a secluded area in barangay Patalan here and burned the vehicle down after forcing its passengers to alight with their belongings at the highway.
Navarette said the place where the bus was brought to and burned was about a hundred meters away from the highway at a quarry area before a bridge.
The driver told police later that the two men and the woman tried to calm the passengers down by saying "Itong bus lang ang kelangan namin" (This bus is all we need).They asked the passengers to go down then had the bus turn left toward the quarry area.
