  Sithi Information
The Sithi (called Zida'ya in their own tongue) are a cryptic, long-lived elder race from the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy by Tad Williams.
Slightly smaller than the humans in Williams books, the Sithi are skilled with bows, are lithe of build, typically have golden, tanned skin, and may or may not have pointed ears.
Williams' idea of the Sithi was influenced by the Irish legend of the Sidhe, and by Tolkien's elves.

Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The books are set on the continent of Osten Ard, whose inhabitants include Sithi (elf-like immortals), Qanuc (hobbit-like mountain-dwellers) and other races, as well as several distinct human nations.
The youthful conquests of King John the Presbyter (also called Prester John) united most of the human world into a single realm, but by the beginning of the first book, the former conqueror is too old and feeble to stop his sons from quarrelling.
As the evil minions of the undead Sithi Storm King prepare for the kingdom-shattering culmination of their dark sorceries and King Elias is drawn ever deeper into their nightmarish, spell-spun world, the loyal allies of Prince Josua desperately struggle to rally their forces at The Stone of Farewell.

In Osten Ard, a land once ruled by an elvishlike race known as the Sithi, the human high King is dying.
And with his death, a long-dormant evil is unleashed on the land as the undead Sithi ruler, the Storm King, seeks to regain his lost realm through a pact with one of human royal blood.
The Sithi were called the "Shee" (those of you versed in Celtic stuff can see where I eventually made it a little less straightforward, while still giving the nod to the original concept) and the Norns were called the "Dark Fay".

TAD WILLIAMS | Stone of Farewell   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-11)
In this mesmerizing sequel to The Dragonbone Chair, best-selling author Tad Williams returns us to the troubled realms of humans, Quanuc trolls, and Sithi, as the dark magic and terrigying minions of the undead Sithi ruler, Ineluki the Storm King, spread their seemingly undefeatable evil across the realm of Osten Ard.
As the very land is blighted by the power of Ineluki's wrath, the tattered remnants of a once-proud human army flee in search of a last sanctuary and rallying point —THE Stone of Farewell, a place shrouded in mystery and ancient sorrow.
Writing about immoral, alien characters is always difficult, so it was an entertaining challenge to try to make the Sithi seem genuinely different from humans.

Later, stumbling about in the forest, he almost accidentally rescues a Sithi prince and befreinds the Quanuc, Binabik, who is somewhere between a hobbit and a dwarf.
