Siva (song) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Siva" (pronounced "Shee-vah") is a song by The Smashing Pumpkins (at the time, known as simply Smashing Pumpkins) that was the third single from their debut album Gish.
The song was one of three played at the band's infamous 1992 BBC Session with John Peel.
Corgan originally titled the song "Shiva," referring to the Tantric concepts of Shiva and Shakti as opposing feminine and masculine forces, ignorant of any further implications of the name.

When Siva was told of this identification, he fondly enquired about the status of the family, to reassure himself that the young man’s disappearance would not starve the members of his family.
Siva, who has been working at this strain for more than quarter of a century (why, even in Malaya he was famous for this thorough-going work), has to do it even today and the youngsters feel that the moment they pass the baby on to another, their responsibility is over.
Siva sent the audience to the heaven of joy when, in the middle of the song, he stopped and said in the same tune: ‘I have forgotten the rest of the song,’ and translated this into all the languages.

Siva is a songwriter/producer/performer who does so many things so well as to defy description.
Maybe its the ease with which Samantha Siva moves from one genre to another, maybe it's the confidence in her music to expand as an artist and not repeat herself on every album.
Then again, maybe that's the problem with Siva's detractors, who expect her to stay in one genre and be repetitive --- and who obviously cant keep up with her.
