In the county, the population is spread out with 26.30% under the age of 18, 8.60% from 18 to 24, 26.90% from 25 to 44, 23.60% from 45 to 64, and 14.60% who are 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a household in the county is $42,381, and the median income for a family is $48,347.

Skagit county was created by the Legislature of the Territory of Washington on November 28, 1883 from the southern part of Whatcom County.
Baker River, a tributary of the Skagit River in Whatcom and Skagit Counties.
The townsite was platted in 1884 by Otto Klement.
