Skamania County changed its ordinance to set conditions under which development could occur in "ancient subdivisions" with lots as small as 50 by 100 feet, or less than one-eighth of an acre.
County standards required that old lots first meet health codes -- if a small lot couldn't support a septic system by itself, it would have to be bundled with other lots until it could -- and have access to a public road.
Counties affected by the scenic area rules include Multnomah, Hood and Wasco in Oregon, and Clark, Skamania and Klickitat in Washington.

The Skamania County 4-H Youth Development Program provides leadership for traditional 4-H programs and portable ropes programs.
