"Skiercross was created in the U.S. and now that the IOC has named it as a new Olympic event, interest in the states will soar," said TST co-founder Kipp Nelson.
The IOC approved the addition of skiercross for the 2010 Winter Olympics in a meeting in Kuwait City on Nov. 28.
An exciting sport for participants and spectators, skiercross features four to six skiers racing simultaneously down a technically demanding course which resembles a motocross track, with man-made and natural rollers, jumps, banked turns and tabletops.

I am now the proud owner of the skiercross crown after winning the title at the Orange British Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships which are being held in Laax in Switzerland.

It's a shame skiercross was not around in my racing days as I would have probably given up downhill racing to have a crack at it as it gives you a huge buzz.
