I know a boat that will do the same thing, for about $1500: a mid-1950s racing hydroplane with a wood and canvas hull and a Mercury engine and a Quicksilver lower unit.
I realize these are "older" than the boat in topic, but I have been waiting for the right thread to post these on - hope no-one minds.
I guess if the future of anti-ship weaponry are super-cav torpedoes and such, maybe it's better to be riding around on the Nerf Ship of Death that barely touches the water at all....
