Sky News' "sister channel" in the United States is Fox News Channel, launched on October 7, 1996.

The opener is based on the new Sky News UK opener, which was intoduced a few months earlier in Britain.
The graphics however, as usual, are original to Sky News Australia, and feature a blue, red and white parallelogram design using Arial font.

Foxtel chief executive officer Kim Williams said Sky News—the joint venture between the Seven and Nine Networks and the UK’s Sky News channel—will be one of the core components of the new site.
