The impetus for the relaunch as Sky Television was the refusal of the ITC to allow Murdoch to participate in the British Satellite Broadcasting alliance.
Sky Travel is to be replaced by Sky Three on October 31, 2005, to air BSkyB exclusive licenced content with delays of between 12-18 months from their original air dates on Sky One.
Sky is allowed to restrict certain channels such as Sky Sports Xtra to its direct customers, who are also able to use certain interactive features of its programming which are not available to cable viewers.

Sky TV originated as a four-channel service on the Astra satellite at 19.2° east.
The Astra satellite was owned by a Luxembourg-based consortium and controlled from there, but Sky's broadcasts originated in the UK and were subject to British regulation, originally by the Cable Authority and later by the Independent Television Commission.
Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, which was originally the sole owner of Sky Television, currently has a 38% stake in the company.

SKY Network Television Limited, often trading as SKY, is an Auckland, New Zealand-based pay television operator.
It launched its digital satellite television service in 1999, which now includes such channels as BBC World, UK.TV, Sky News, and local channels susch as the Rugby Channel, (rugby being the national sport) and the local music video channel Juice TV.
It should not be confused with British Sky Broadcasting in the UK, though one of BSkyB's shareholders, News Corporation, has a 44% shareholding in SKY Network Television, following SKY's merger with parent company INL in July 2005.

However, as soon as a friend who had had Sky programmes for some time heard about it he said there was a cheaper one where you paid £100 instead of £79 for installation and then nothing monthly.
I did twice get to talk to a Sky representative but only because they phoned me on the first occasion to sell me something and on the second to ask how pleased I was with the service.
