		Skyfire's brand of melodic death metal on "Spectral" borrows heavily from the keyboard-laden sound that Soilwork has become known for (and perhaps a little bit of the style popularized by Children Of Bodom).
		Since the album features growling vocals throughout, "Spectral" should appeal to all melodic death metal fans that have been disappointed by the ever-increasing use of clean vocals on recent albums by the genre's heavyweights.

		I'm not sure what type of jet Skyfire is and I've never seen a tow truck that looked anything like Tow-line, but I can tell you this about both of their vehicle modes - they do a piss-poor job of hiding their robot modes.
		Skyfire has a good paintjob (very Decepticon), but the jet looks kind of dwarfed like how the G1 minibots looked like dwarfed versions of the vehicles they were based on.
		Skyfire resembles a G2 Cyberjet and the only problem I have with the figure in this mode is that the head can only move to the left or right and can barely do that.

		I like Skyfire, so I was more than a little surprised that upon shopping for the import version of prior album Mind Revolution, I found out this, their third album, had been released on Spanish label Arise Records.
		Skyfire, along with Norther, have headed the Children Of Bodom sound-a-like contest with unashamed plagiarism, both pawning the same style of peppy, synth heavy, catchy, “poppish” fl metal.
		Despite a new label though, Skyfire appear to be running in place, because as much as I enjoy the band, their technical proficiency, chosen style and energy, it just doesn’t add up to a memorable album indicative of their ability.

		If you only go by the vocals this is a death metal album but Skyfire have so much more to offer since they have incorporated more non-traditional elements in their music.
		Skyfire do have a lot in common with Children Of Bodom but 1) they don´t have the same bombastic sound, 2) their growling doesn´t have the same depth and 3) the keyboards are not just used to enhance the guitars but also to create more complex classically inspired melodies.

		Another thing that sets SKYFIRE apart from other bands is that they don’t drown their songs with thousands of solo runs, there are some solos of course but the band is more concerned with shorter melodies.
		If you’re going to call SKYFIRE a clone, now is not the time, “Spectral” is something special, I wouldn’t call it a genre defining album, but it deserves much, much more than a stamp that says “Made in Bodom”.

		D’accord, le death mélodique n’est plus ce qu’il était et tourne aujourd’hui un peu en rond, et pourtant, sans être du tout original ou novateur, Skyfire réussit ici à faire quelque chose d’intéressant et à maintenir l’attention de l’auditeur grâce à des morceaux très variés et complexes.
