Slash Records is a record label in Los Angeles, originally specializing in local and punk rock bands.
Until 1981, the label was distributed through Jem; when that company went bankrupt, Slash entered into a distribution deal with Warner Bros., a move that was among the first of the collaborations between independent and major labels in American punk music.
From 1982 until 1996, releases from Slash Records were distributed in the United States by Warner Bros. Records, and elsewhere by Mercury Records.

Mark Vallen's Art For A Change - Slash Magazine.
Slash Magazine grew out of the tasteless wasteland of Los Angeles in 1977, when a cluster of punk malcontents emerged who would challenge prevailing attitudes with as much verve as any group of nonconformists who had preceded them.
Slash was also the primary source of record reviews for punk and "new wave" records.
But as it's been said, "the more things change, the more they stay the same." Slash was just one small stab at altering society and re-energizing a rebellious state of mind, a mission that is certain to be taken up by others...

That's right, 25 years after the founding of Slash Records, the LA based label that introduced the world to acts like the Germs, X, the Blasters, Los Lobos, Violent Femmes, Faith No More and Rammstein, Biggs is back, and so is the imprint that he used to make his first impression on the music world.
As the publisher of the punk magazine Slash from 1977 to 1980 Biggs was exposed to a lot of music that wasn't getting the attention he thought it deserved, which led to the founding of Slash Records in 1978, debuting with the Germs' Lexicon Devil EP.

How to Be a Drum & Bass Junglist - wikiHow
Learn the two records' beats perfectly match, you can switch between the two records as fast or as slow as you want, as long as the phrases match up in a logical way.You can even start the records at different points in a phrase to get really technical and funky.
This is why sometimes you match 2 records together and the melodies and basslines match great, but when you try and do it later, when the pitches are different from where they were the first time you mixed the records, they will not sound matched.
Make slash marks for the bars--put longer slashes between the phrases and make notes about what is going on in the song (basic beat, drum fills, bass line comes in/out, melody comes in/out, beat drops out of song).

The album's sizzling array of blues-inspired, guitar-driven, rock 'n' roll litanies is timeless, even amidst the angst-driven masses of today's hard rock economy, and Slash holds steadfast to the music he loves.
In fact, with one small exception, there's nothing on the album that wasn't the organic result of a vocalist, two guitarists, a bassist and a drummer getting into a room and playing their instruments the way they were played before computers revolutionized the recording process.
