puff, yea i thought it might be that, but i installed it on another M$ box and it was fine.
puff: you can also try to `apt-get install ifplugd` which is supposed to only bring up the interface when it detects that a cable is plugged in.
puff: yes, a helper to bring up wifi only when it detects signal would be grand.

Slashing was the practice of cutting slits in the material of the garments, usually the sleeves, sometimes the breeches, etc. and pulling the lining through the slit.
This slash and puff style became almost universal in the 1500's.
The Swiss Guards who protected the Pope in the Vatican were probably the first to introduce slashing of the sleeves and they still wear slashed sleeves on their uniforms today.
