The Slavey language is a spoken language used among the Slavey Native American people of Canada.

Alexander the Great Replicas - Alexander III Replicas
Slavey Petrov (he goes by his first name and spells it this way, though sometimes you see it spelled "Slavei") is controversial because he doesn't (or didn't) mark all of his replicas as replicas and because indications are his apprentices have produced modern copies meant to deceive (forgeries), many of them.
Slavey Petrov is one of the three great ancient coin replica makers in the world active over the past half century, with the other two being Antiquanova and Peter Rosa.
As with much of Slavey's work, the fields are flatter and more regular than on authentic coins, a result of the high-pressure hydraulic press he uses to transfer the designs from die to planchet, which contrasts with the ancient practice of hand striking using a hammer.

Alexander the Great Forgeries - Alexander III Forgeries
I believe that the Lipanoff Studio is comprised of students of Slavey Petrov, the Bulgarian replica maker who began making replicas in 1966 at the age of 15 and who admitted in a 2000 interview with Bill Puetz that his apprentices are responsible for the rash of forgeries coming out of Bulgaria.
There are distinct similarities in the die work of Slavey replicas and Lipanoff fakes, the same genuine artistry, the same expressive/excessive flamboyance that goes beyond what the ancient celators did.
It uses a Slavey replica as the host or seed coin for the obverse (this replica is documented on the Alexander Replicas page of this site) and the same Philip III reverse as the first fake illustrated on this page.
