Rolling Stone : Slip Of The Tongue : Review
If albums were women, 'Slip of the Tongue' would be the proverbial Ice Queen.
In short, Slip of the Tongue is one dull date.
Axe slinger Steve Vai, who sat in for the injured Adrian Vandenberg on the album and is now a member of the band, could have been the saving grace had he not been buried under a mishmash of sappy string arrangements and declawed power chords.

Media That Matters Film Festival: Slip of the Tongue: About
I shot and edited Slip of the Tongue last summer (2005) in various locations in downtown Oakland, CA, and in my own house.
Slip of the Tongue originated when I was asked to participate in a filmmakers conference in Connecticut in 2005.
The slam poem “Slip of the Tongue” by my friend Adriel Luis stood out to me since it actually told a story and was structured just like a film with an introduction, conflict, climax and resolution.

In my experience, anyone who has a slip of the tongue involving a relatively rare slur like “coon” probably has a very large vocabulary of racial slurs that he uses quite frequently in private.
That tends to lend credence to his ’slip of the tongue’ argument.
He tried to claim it was an innocent slip of the tongue.

When you say something by accident - something which you did not mean to say - you have made a slip of the tongue.
It was just a slip of the tongue." When you are walking and one of your feet slip, you lose your footing and sometimes you fall down; when you make a slip of the tongue, you misstep with your words (the tongue) and say something that you did not plan to say.
Example: "Be careful talking to the police tomorrow; one slip of the tongue could get us into big trouble." Sometimes a slip of the tongue causes you a problem because you have said the wrong thing at the wrong time.

That was just a slip of the tongue.” Lenihan later said he meant to use the word “coup.”
