Sluggy Freelance is one of the longest running, best-known and most popular webcomics, with a new comic released daily since August 25, 1997, except for 8 days in August 2001 and filler art on many other occasions.
A section of original Sluggy comics set in the alternate future world of the novels appears in the end of Hell's Faire, and a sampler of Sluggy storylines is included on the CD-ROM bound into this book.
Numerous other webcomics have referenced Sluggy Freelance, and various guest artists on Sluggy Freelance have included their own webcomics' characters in their guest strips, including User Friendly who swapped A.J. for Torg for a week.

A good place to start is by picking up a copy of Pete Abram’s Sluggy Freelance: Is it Not Nifty, a 160 page compilation of strips covering the first eight months of the hugely popular Internet comic strip, Sluggy Freelance.
In addition, Sluggy Freelance seems to be targeted to the typical Internet user and has a tilt that the standard syndicated comic strips don’t.
Nevertheless, Sluggy Freelance sits comfortably in the top tier of comic strips out there today, and Is it Not Nifty deserves to be on every MIT student’s shelf.

 Sci-Fi Site of the Week
Hence Sluggy Freelance, an unabashedly geeky adventure that's long been one of the best of the growing crop of online comic strips.
But Sluggy Freelance is way too much fun for the increasingly stodgy mainstream newspaper comics pages.
The strip centers around two longtime friends--budding mad scientist Riff and his dorky friend Torg--and their assorted hangers-on, including a homicidal lop-eared bunny, a Giger-style alien who works as a secretary, a blowhard vampire and a normal college student who gets involved in their time-traveling, dimension-hopping, TV-parodying adventures more often than she'd like.

 Sluggy Freelance: A Review
I spent a great deal of Saturday afternoon reading the almost two years' worth of daily Sluggy Freelance comic strips on Pete Abrams' web-site, and although I laughed my ass off, I still have no idea why it's called Sluggy Freelance.
Anyway, Sluggy Freelance is an insanely funny daily online-only comic strip that's a combination parody of popular science fiction (Star Trek, Aliens, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, X-Files, and so forth) and soap opera.
The major cast consists of Torg, a freelance web-designer, Riff, his buddy with no visible means of support but a penchant for demonology and mad science, Torg's "pet" lop-eared rabbit Bun-Bun, complete with switchblade and major attitude problem, Zoë, the girl next door, Kiki the ferret, Aylee the alien, and a cast of thousands.
