IWBNI it were possible to adjust the shape of the inner boundary of slurs (and ties) independently of that of the outer boundary.
For a slur that is above the staff, the "inner" boundary is the lower boundary of the slur.
Slurs that quickly grow thick at the tips can draw too much attention away from the notehead and tend to blend in or bleed into noteheads.

 How to create slurs
For example, the way that a brass player may execute a slur is to play the first pitch, and then without interrupting his wind pressure, he'll finger the second pitch (without a pronounced tonguing either).
To simulate a slur on an electronic module (which uses digital waveforms), what you usually want to do is skip (or somehow make less pronounced) the attack portion of the waveform when sounding the slurred note (ie, the second pitch).
So, you can execute a slur between C and C# by playing the C note, holding it down, and moving the pitch wheel upward until the pitch is raised a half step.

And, generally, supporters of the president have defended his use of the slur by the same tactic: it's not problematic because most Americans are unaware that "Paki" is offensive.
First, Bush used the term knowingly and premeditatedly, that is, he knew the term is a racist slur, and he meant to use it as a racist slur; in which case, he is not only a racist but dangerously unhinged.
Second, Bush used the term accidentally; that is, he knew that it is a racist slur and its use was a verbal or mental slip.

John Greschak - Finale Suggestion 631: An Option to Make a Given Smart Shape Slur be Dashed and Tapered
A dashed slur would be generated by partitioning a normal slur into the specified number of dashes in such a way that all dashes would have the same length.
In the case that the sum total of the dash lengths and gap lengths is less that the total length of the slur, the remaining length would be distributed symmetrically into the gaps, as evenly as possible.
The latter approach would cause the thinner dashes of a typical slur to be slightly longer than the thicker dashes that occur along the horizontal midsection of the slur.

Dolmetsch Online - Music Theory Online - Phrasing & Articulation
Slurs, which tend to embrace a smaller number of notes, help to shape the musical line even within broader phrasing marks and performers must be able to distinguish between them.
Slurring, in such surroundings, would obsure the line, and so the performer has to be able to adjust the performance to the demands made by the surroundings by ignoring slur and phrase marks that may be redundant.
When used under a slur, the staccato mark will have a slightly modified effect depending on the 'weight' of the note within the slur were it to have no staccato mark.

Political correctness - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Conservatives picked up and once again transformed the notion of political correctness to claim that a left-wing movement based in liberal academic circles was attempting to create a new doctrinaire political orthodoxy through social engineering which included changing words and phrases that some groups found offensive.
Use of the term then declined in the late 1990s, and it is now mostly seen in comedy or as a political slur with questionable meaning.
More recently, the term has been reclaimed by a tiny subset of multiculturalist writers and speakers who reject (or are oblivious to) its controversial connotations and origins.
