But he finds a mesmerizing presence in Ambrose, a terrific young actress who carries the film without a second of showiness, confident in her ability to simply embody a character who keeps her true feelings under wraps.
Content to do little more than illuminate Ambrose's small corner of the world, Swimming has a sense of proportion that's rare and refreshing for an American film, which may explain why it languished without a distributor for two years.
Though Carter is a terrible waitress, her charms are not lost on Ambrose, whose growing infatuation with the newcomer edges into uncomfortable territory and opens up a rift with the jealous Lowe.

Although the small telescopes of the TrES network made the initial discovery, follow-up observations at other facilities were required.
"It's almost paradoxical that small telescopes are more efficient than the largest ones if you use the transit method, since we live in a time when astronomers already are planning 100-meter-diameter telescopes," says lead author Roi Alonso of the Astrophysical Institute of the Canaries (IAC), who discovered the new planet.

Goldsmith: Killing off small farms in Brazil.
Of course, the Ministry only finds citrus canker on the surviving small family farms; most of the small family farms have already had their citrus trees destroyed, while on the very big plantations there is little more than a token destruction of very small areas.
Worse still, the Ministry considers that anything done on a small scale is unhygienic and that the food we produce would be unsafe to consume unless we took very special measures to comply with their preposterous hygiene requirements.
The Ministry of Agriculture, which works closely with the big producers, uses a quite clever device for killing off our small nurseries, one that was exploited successfully in the state of Parana as far back as the 1970s and that they tried to apply in the 80s in Rio Grande del Sul.

A model checker finds all nodes in a model that satisfy a given formula, and thus provides an automatic mechanism to find where optimizations can be made.
Model checking algorithms can then be used to tell which nodes satisfy a given temporal logic formula and thus provide a mechanism to tell which nodes in the model of an object program are candidates for an optimizing transformation.

The so-called small shelly fauna of the ensuing Tommotian period included Cloudinia and its kin.

Notable among these are trace fossils in the form of imprints of animals and their activities, such as burrows in mud, produced by animals that paleontologists call the Ediacaran fauna.
