Smark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Smarks are a subset of the professional wrestling fanbase.
Smarks have been looked down upon by wrestlers and other wrestling fans alike because they are seen as fans who are incapable of suspending their disbelief.
Smarks have been blamed many times by various wrestling promotions (mostly WWE) of killing kayfabe, or the suspension of disbelief within the business even though it was WWE owner Vince McMahon himself at his highly publicized steroid trial in the early 1990s, saying publicly and under oath that it is all a predetermined spectacle.

Many ticket selling smarks claim to love pro-wrestling but if that were true they wouldn’t make a mockery of it with their antics.
“Smarks,” no matter how much insider knowledge they may think they have, demonstrate time and again that they just don’t “get it.” Perhaps their bitterness and negativity is because they know, deep inside, that the “marks” who they so disdain have something they will never achieve, true enjoyment and understanding of the magic.

Mark (professional wrestling) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Smarks often take great offense at being called a "mark", since it implies that they are stupid and/or gullible.
Both marks and smarks also become offended when another person attempts to "educate" them on the sport's staged nature, since it would greatly insult their intelligence of the former to tell them that the "sport" of which they are a devoted fan is fake, and insults the smarks as they already are aware of that.

 "smark" definition from Double-Tongued Dictionary
Or more accurately, I am a smark, a smark mark, someone hip to the inner workings of the industry who at the same time is willing to give himself over to the pleasures of the spectacle, and the possibility that some of it might actually be real.
A smart mark.…Fusing smart fan and mark, the term was apparently coined by the industry itself to name the contradiction of being a smart fan who nonetheless relishes the game, someone awed by and engaged in viewing professional wrestling despite being expert in its construction.
They claim to love wrestling the most but seemingly bitch 100% and never really praise anything, as if they were wrestling fans when it was good and they only still watch out of habit now.

The fact is, deep in my heart somewhere, behind the mask of ‘technical wrestling and backstage politics’, is the little boy who cheered when Taker Tombstoned Lawler, and when HBK won the Royal Rumble, and then the WWF Title at WrestleMania.
