Smitty's Bar and Restaurant and its unique proprieter Smitty have been a landmark in Anguilla for years.
At first it was a little sterile, but Smitty soon made it more comfortable with pictures on the wall, piles of shells, lattice work and a beach full of casual tables and umbrellas.

Firstly because of my aversion to myself using motorised transport (and this is purely a purely me-centred objection - I don't think I have either the caution or the spatial awareness that it should take to drive), and secondly because it's cheaper, and I'm still at the point where that makes a difference.
Having done much, but I have changed the template so that (hopefully) I've put in a tracker of where people are coming from and where people are going to from this blog.
For a long time I saw this as just weakening the fasting of the Church, but it actually does have justification - relying on the 'who can fast while the Bridegroom is with them' verse, which is actually rather nice and, imho, educational - kinda like not kneeling between the Resurrection and Pentecost inclusive.
