Representation of a Lie group - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A representation of a Lie group G on a finite-dimensional complex vector space V is a smooth group homomorphism Ψ:G→Aut(V) from G to the automorphism group of V.
The condition that Ψ is smooth, in the definition above, means that Ψ is a smooth map from the smooth manifold G to the smooth manifold Aut(V).
On the Lie algebra level, there is a corresponding linear mapping from the Lie algebra of G to End(V) preserving the Lie bracket [ , ].

Push forward - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In mathematics, the push forward (or pushforward) of a smooth map F : M → N between smooth manifolds at a point p is, in some sense, the best linear approximation of F near p.
Explicitly, it is a linear map from the tangent space of M at p to the tangent space of N at F(p).
We wish to generalize this to the case that F is a smooth function between any smooth manifolds M and N.

Encyclopedia :: encyclopedia : Cotangent   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-30)
Because cotangent bundles can be thought of as symplectic manifolds, any real function on the cotangent bundle can be interpreted to be a Hamiltonian; thus the cotangent bundle can be understood to be a phase space on which Hamiltonian mechanics plays out.
Smooth sections of the cotangent bundle are differential one-forms.
If we define tangent covectors in terms of equivalence classes of smooth maps vanishing at a point then the definition of the pullback is even more straightforward.

1 Introduction   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-30)
A common problem in astronomy is the smoothing of some irregularly sampled data into a continuous map.
The use of a smooth map is convenient for at least two reasons.
Second, if the smoothing is done in a sufficiently coarse way, the smooth map is significantly less noisy than the individual data.

The importance of transversality is that it's a stable and generic condition.

Compressor Map Preparation - Smooth C
A compressor map in the standard format cannot be used directly in a performance calculation program.
It is also not possible to read the map with given speed N/sqrt(T1) and pressure ratio P2/P1 because it might be, that there are two values for corrected flow at a given pressure ratio P2/P1.
In Smooth C the beta-lines are equally spaced straight lines or parabolas with parameter values of beta = 0...1.

 Curve
Then a curve is a continuous mapping, where X is a topological space.
On the other hand it is useful to be more general, in that (for example) it is possible to define the tangent vectors to X by means of this notion of curve.
The map is called a reparametrisation of ; and this makes an equivalence relation on the set of all C

Citebase - On the Albanese map for smooth quasi-projective varieties
A famous theorem of A. Roitman states that the canonical map from the degree zero part of the Chow group of zero cycles on X to the group of k-points of its Albanese variety induces an isomorphism on torsion prime to the characteristic of k.
As was first observed by Ramachandran, for such a generalisation one should replace the Chow group of zero cycles by Suslin's 0-th algebraic singular homology group and the Albanese variety by the generalised Albanese of Serre.
We also prove that the generalised Albanese map is an isomorphism if k is the algebraic closure of a finite field.

Dynamics of a piecewise smooth map with singularity
Authors: Kumar, Aloke; Banerjee, Soumitro; Lathrop, Daniel P. Experiments observing the liquid surface in a vertically oscillating container have indicated that modeling the dynamics of such systems require maps that admit states at infinity.
We show that though such maps in general fall in the category of piecewise smooth maps, the mechanisms of bifurcations are quite different from those in other piecewise smooth maps.

 Definitions
A smooth surface S in R^3 is a surface such that for any point x on the surface we can find a smooth map f from R^2 to R^3 and a neighbourhood V of x in R^3, such that such than f maps some neighbourhood of the origin onto the intersection of V and S.
The Jacobian of the map at a point x, is the matrix of partial derivatives of f.
The map h is called a reparametrisation of the source of the map.

 evolutionm.net - Smooth idle map & question
I had the orginal map at first but now am using the smoother idle map and the idle still gets rough everyonce in a while but not as bad but it is almost as though most of the power gained from the piggy goes away.
I have the software and the map but unfortunantly no laptop to hook it up right now and give you the map, it would probably be faster to get it through rrm.
Nevertheless, the misfiring is still an amazing amount less than either the rougher map without 92 octane or the smoother map with 89.

But when I turn smooth on again, the uv placement seems to assign the texture on the wrong faces.
And you should be able to delete the smooth node, then keep your UVs, and redo a smooth operation.
