Once inside New York City, Snake is pitted against roving street gangs of violent criminals and the crazies, the criminally insane, who live in the subways and break through the floors or pour out of manholes in hordes like sewer rats to attack whomever they can.
When Snake manages to track down The Duke he is almost immediately stripped of the guns given him for the mission, shot in the leg and savagely beaten.
Snake then manages to slip away from Duke and his gang and carries out a spectacular rescue of the President, from the George Washington Bridge amid exploding mines and a bloody fight.

In short, the Snake Plissken Chronicles are a group of projects as a whole undertaken by John Carpenter and Debra Hill to develop Snake Plissken.
Now that Snake Plissken is getting his own game, this may or may not add to the confusion, hopefully the latter.

Snake is pissed off at Brain for having left him in the lurch, but considering that until now, Brain was the one in jail, and Snake was on the outside, I'm not sure what all Snake's beef is about.
Snake intuits that Brain is going to try to fly his glider out of the city with the president and Maggie, so he rushes over to the World Trade Center.
Snake is rushed to the medic to have his explosive implants deactivated, although Hauk first demands he turn over the cassette.

Plissken supporter turned Plissken copy cat, James "Jimmy" Dead has surfaced with a vendetta against key political officials one year after the real Snake Plissken was executed on Federal Broadcasting Network's (FBN) prison reality show "Clemency".
Snake Plissken was finally captured and brought to justice after an exhaustive 17 year "off the record" manhunt for sabotaging the President's Nuclear Fusion talks in 1981's Escape from New York.
The public thinks Plissken's death was staged, but no one's certain since the broadcast aired "live".

I mention this because the combination of the episodic form of the comic book and the cinematic action and tone of the Snake Plissken property puts me in mind of the serial.
Snake Plissken Chronicles isn't going to blow anyone's mind, but it does provide some excitement and solid laughs.
Thanks to his quick thinking and stubborn refusal to die, Snake Plissken's watery grave turns out not to be so deadly after all, but he's a long way from land...
