		A snakeboard is a board that was invented in 1989.
		It evolved from the original skateboard, and brought with it elements of snowboards and surfboards.
		Snakeboard is the name of the first company that manufactured boards of this kind, and since it was the only company at the time - The sport rapidly became known as snakeboarding.

	Is a Streetboard the same as a Snakeboard?
		Unfortunately Snakeboard® as we knew it met it's demise shortly thereafter so the name Streetboard was not known by anyone other than the riders at the World Championships until years later.
		This turned out to pretty much kill the entire sport, MV were not and interested in the sport at all, so they bought the name and the patent to put on their range of toy boards and other toys such as metal skateboards and micro scooters.
		Since MV owned the Snakeboard® name it is easily understandable why the sports name had to be changed, not only to avoid being sued for illegal use of the name but also to get as far away from MV and their toys as possible.

		Originally there was only one company called 'Snakeboard U.S.A', this company made several boards under their name but it wasn't until 'Anderson' (a different company) made a new board that the name Snakeboard was disputed.
		This lead to all Snakeboard competitions having their names changed to 'streetboard' (except the ones organized by Snakeboard U.S.A) Sadly due to the fact that Snake/Streetboards are hard to come by (where I come from)you don't see as many 'snakers' as I'd like to.
