  The Snares - Definition, explanation
The Snares (also known as Tini Heke and, incorrectly, as Snares Islands) are a small subantarctic island group approximately 200 kilometres south of New Zealand's South Island.
The Snares consist of the main island (North East Island) and the smaller Broughton Island as well as the somewhat isolated the Western Chain.
Unlike other subantarctic islands that were greatly affected by the whaling and sealing industry in the 19th century, The Snares remain one of the last pristine areas in New Zealand.

 Machiavelli: The Prince: Chapter XVIII
You must know there are two ways of contesting, the one by the law, the other by force; the first method is proper to men, the second to beasts; but because the first is frequently not sufficient, it is necessary to have recourse to the second.
A prince, therefore, being compelled knowingly to adopt the beast, ought to choose the fox and the lion; because the lion cannot defend himself against snares and the fox cannot defend himself against wolves.
Therefore, it is necessary to be a fox to discover the snares and a lion to terrify the wolves.

The looser snares respond to the lightest touch while the tighter snares keep their focus during loud play thus giving UltraSound snares extended sensitivity and dynamic range.
Since their introduction in 1993, Pearl's Masters Custom MMX snare drums have earned worldwide acclaim for their deep, full-bodied sound reminiscent of classic vintage snare drums thanks to their thin 4 ply, 5mm 100% maple shells with 4 ply with 5mm maple glue rings.
The JJ-1355 Joey Jordison signature snare drum features a 13” x 6.5” 1 mm steel shell that can be best described as a "power piccolo" with the high pitch and bite of a piccolo with the body and depth of a 6.5” for the kind of power you expect from Joey.

SNAREs were originally classified according to the membrane component where they were required, as v-SNAREs (associated with the vesicles) or t-SNAREs (associated with the target compartment) [5].
Indeed, the SNARE motif involved in the formation of the helical bundle of the SNARE complex is conserved but bears unique features allowing the classification as Q- and R-, according to the residue present in the centre of the motif [10].
The N-terminal series of Habc helixes from syntaxin 1 is proposed to be able to bind the coiled-coil region of the SNARE motif to prevent the protein from interacting with unwanted partners during its trafficking to the plasma membrane [23,40].
