The field's reserves are estimated at 56 million barrels of crude oil and condensate and 368 billion cubic feet of gas.

The Snorre field lies in blocks 34/4 and 34/7, approximately 200km west of Floro, in Norway.
The Snorre reserves lie in the fluvial sands of the Lunde formation from the late Triassic period and the Statfjord formation is early Jurassic.
Snorre has recoverable reserves of 1.4 billion barrels of oil, 6 billion m³ of gas and 6 million tonnes of natural gas liquids.

Kvitebjoern, a high pressure high termperature gas condensate field, started production in September 2004 and is producing 20 million standard cubic metres of gas and 62,000 barrels of condensate per day at plateau.
The blocks contain the mature Norne oil field, the Stær/Svale development, and the Alve, Falk and Linerle discoveries.
The swap is subject to approval from the Ministry of Oil and Energy.

October 25 The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan opens an oil pipeline stretching northwest from Baku on the Caspian Sea, through a 93-mile segment in Chechnya, and on to the Russian port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea.
The field is located 466 miles south of Tripoli on the Murzuk NC-174 block.
A contract to explore the field was signed in 1990 by the consortium and Libya's National Oil Company Under the terms of the agreement, the Libyan company will retain 75 percent of the oil produced and the rest will be equally split among the consortium's members.

LONDON - Oil prices climbed in trading yesterday, amid violence in major producers Saudi Arabia and Iraq and a strike by oil workers in Norway - the world's third biggest exporter of crude, analysts said.
The blasts came as oil exports from southern Iraq remained blocked yesterday after attacks on pipelines to the port of Basra earlier in the week.
Some 200 Norwegian oil workers yesterday began an indefinite strike for better pensions and working conditions that was likely to cut the country's production by up to 400,000 barrels per day (bpd).

The company said 180 staff have now been evacuated from the platform in the Norwegian North Sea, with the remaining 36 pumping heavy drilling mud into the injection well to try to stop the leakage.
The Snorre oil field where both the Snorre A and Snorre B platforms are located produces a total 238,000 barrels per day, according to the Statoil website.

The off-shore Snorre oil field, which normally pumps out more than 300,000 barrels per day (bpd), saw its production grind to a halt on Saturday, the field's operator Statoil told AFP.
Operators of two other large fields, producing a total of 144,000 bpd, meanwhile said they expected to be forced to suspend their operations soon.
The striking workers, who are members of the minority union OFS walked off the job last Friday in an attempt to obtain improved retirement and work conditions.

HOUSTON, Feb. 7 -- Enterprise Oil Norge AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of AS Norske Shell, and Statoil ASA agreed to swap some assets off Norway in a deal under which Shell will gain interests in three Statoil deepwater exploration licenses.
The blocks contain Norne oil field, the Stær-Svale development, and the Alve, Falk, and Linerle discoveries.
Norske Shell also will divest its 1.18% interest in Snorre oil field to Statoil, which operates all the assets.
