Snot were a band that formed in 1994, with the original lineup or Mike Doling (guitar), Lynn Strait (vocals), Brent (drums) and Ruben (bass), and they played keg parties in the summer.
The band recorded a demo with producer Jim Wirt, at 4th Street in Santa Monica California, USA in early 1996, and in March 1996 the band recorded a demo with Dave Fortman.
In September 1998 Snot were forced out of doing the Strangeland tour, partly due to scheduling problems with Shannon, and also because of inner band arguing.

Snot was formed in Santa Barbara sometime in 1995 by singer Lynn Strait (who had formerly played bass in local punk act Lethal Dose) and guitarist Mike Doling (formerly of Kronix).
While Snot was running amok all over America, their debut wasn't getting quite as warm a reception as the band and their label would have liked, and after the Universal-Polygram merger, their future with the new company seemed to be in jeopardy as many lesser and new artists were being cut free from their contracts.
It was during this tough time for the band that Strait was killed in a car accident.

Some bands im really into outta seattle right now would be Blue Ribbon Boys- the partner band of my new band (the snot rockettes) they got a really cool 77 punk sound mixed with the NYC punk sound youd find on punkcore records or somthin like that.
Another band thats really good in seattle right now is The Pulverts, their a ska band that sound very early 80s 2nd wave ska, they also mix it with some Snoty punk and put on a good live show.
They have worked extremely hard to get where they are, and the thing is that there are a lot of bands that are just as good as the briefs but they dont put enough work into their band, there for they never get as far.

In the early days of these bands SNOT and Limp Bizkit became good friends and did some tours together and Fred appeared on stage with SNOT a few times back in '98.
In mid 1998 SNOT's original guitarist sonny mayo left the band and was replaced by Mike Smith.
SNOT's unfinished album was to become a tribute album to James Lynn strait which was called 'strait up' the album featured Fred Durst on the song 'forever' and DJ lethal on a hidden track '313', the CD was released in November of 2000.

I was working with the band Souls At Zero as a guitar tech after my band broke up and I hooked up with Shannon Larkin who played drums for them.
From the first band I was in, I had to drop that style of singing, that whole musical scene, because that was the only thing IÕd done vocally, at all, ever, besides singing in the shower.
SnotÕs debut Geffen release will reach stores in May, so time is short to catch Snot before they explode through the universe with rocketing success.

I was one of the unfortunates who never got to see Snot live, so this CD was a really special listen for me. All of Snot's energy is captured perfectly on this CD.

There was such incredible, unpredictable success that came for that band, and money and all those kind of things, and, more importantly, the demand on your quality time; a demand on your person to be able to do what you wanna do.
As a fan coming out to see their favorite band, and having the singer walk offstage or throw the mic down in frustration because the monitors were funky, it's not professional and it's not giving the people what they came for.
As a band we had never at that point even toured any farther than California with MEGADETH on a few shows and at the Country Club in L.A. It was amazing how we were buzzing the scene.
